At Hagopian Arts, we believe murals can spark connection, dialogue, and transformation—across neighborhoods, institutions, and industries. We partner with schools, community centers, nonprofits, and small and large businesses to co-create murals that reflect collective stories and values. Our process invites public participation through image sourcing, voting, and interactive painting sessions. We also offer educational, environmental, and wellness-focused workshops to deepen engagement and inspire lasting impact. This inclusive approach fosters a deep sense of pride and engagement with the artwork.
To foster community engagement, mural sections can be prepped with a color-coded, paint-by-number system using custom hand-mixed colors. We bring these sections to public venues and client locations, allowing participants to actively contribute to the mural’s creation. After these collaborative sessions, Kala, lead artist and founder of Hagopian Arts, refines each section back in the studio, carefully integrating the community-painted pieces into the final mural composition. This process ensures both artistic excellence and a meaningful, hands-on experience for participants.

Efficient & Durable Installation
At Hagopian Arts, we employ a specialized off-site painting process to ensure exceptional quality and longevity for each mural. Murals are meticulously hand-painted in sections at our West Philadelphia studio on a durable synthetic material called poly tab. This method offers several advantages:

Year-Round Production: Painting indoors allows us to work regardless of weather conditions, ensuring timely project completion.

Minimized On-Site Disruption: By working off-site, we reduce our presence in high-traffic or sensitive areas, minimizing disruption to daily activities.

Enhanced Community Participation: The portability of poly tab sections enables us to bring parts of the mural to community events—indoors or outdoors—facilitating safe and accessible public involvement in the painting process.

Superior Detail and Vibrancy: Studio painting allows for intricate detailing and consistent color application, resulting in vibrant, long-lasting murals.
Once completed, the mural sections are transported to their designated locations and seamlessly installed on-site using an adhesive gel that permanently fuses the mural to the wall, allowing the wall’s texture to show through for an integrated appearance. Our team carefully touches up the seams to ensure a flawless finish and applies a UV-protectant sealer to preserve the artwork’s vibrancy and integrity for years to come.
